Delicacies
Delicacies were the topic and the master project of my second academic year. The word 'Delicacy' is an ambiguous term, which can be defined in many different ways. It is most commonly connected with food and the sense of taste. We explored the term, 'Delicacy', using various techniques including weaving with a hand-, jacquard- and turner loom. We also materialized fabric inspired by digital prints of mental images of our own fabric collection. Designers researched this term without any interpretation restrictions and created their own world of colours and patterns. I equated my approach to 'Delicacies' with a celebration of all of the little things, which to me, make life so precious, and in a way, delicious and tasty. The topic became to me the most treasured moments, which I will never forget. Delicacies provided me with a cosmos of experiences and impressions and resulted in a sensual textile product stimulating to the senses. The triangle, regarded as a perfect form, is the basic form for the creative transformation in print. The large numbers of triangles form the delicacies pattern.
